The RIB Outdoor Collection Honors Past While Looking to the Future of Danish Design

With the interior of my home feeling rather toasty, I had to turn on the air conditioning earlier this week. To me, that means summer is here. Rather than flipping the switch or turning the dial, you can also choose to step outdoors and embrace the heat of the season (with sunscreen, of course). An impressive outdoor furniture collection, such as Morten Anker’s new RIB Outdoor Collection for Sibast Furniture, would make it even more inviting. The sustainable core teak collection is an amalgamation of traditional Danish design, aesthetics, and innovation.

The RIB Dining Chair + The RIB Dining Table

The collection has been in the works for quite some time, and upon completion, it serves as a homage to the Golden Age of Danish design. Each of RIB’s furniture pieces is made using carefully selected core teak wood that’s cut, shaped, and assembled by hand. It’s then finished utilizing a special sanding technique that results in an ultra-smooth finish without the use of chemicals or wood stain.

The RIB Outdoor Collection runs the gamut of functionality and includes dining chairs with and without arms, dining benches with and without backrests, round and square dining tables, bar stools, and café tables. The family branches out even further with the addition of lounge chairs and lounge benches, both with and without backrests, lounge tables, single and double daybeds and sunbeds, a modular sofa series, a swing, and four colors of cushions. Plus, for every product sold, a tree is planted through One Tree Planted.
